gShogi is an open source Shogi (Japanese chess) game written in Python / PyGTK / C.

gShogi is based on GNU Shogi. It uses C engine code and graphics for the board pieces from GNU Shogi. It has a new front end gui for GNOME written in python/PyGTK.

Using USI engines

USI is the Universal Shogi Interface. You can install USI engines and use them with gShogi.

GSE

gse is a USI version of the gShogi engine.
It runs on Linux and windows.
It must be used in conjunction with a USI GUI such as gShogi on Linux or shogidokoro on windows.
Version 0.1.4 supports more USI time controls which are available in gshogi 0.4.
